This seminar provides a brief overview of the workers’ compensation system for new or potential employers, independent operators, and proprietors. This seminar is of particular interest to small employers (less than 20 employees) and newly registered employers.
Topics covered: registration, insurance premiums, introduction to occupational health and safety requirements, and workers’ compensation claims.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Describe key employer requirements, including registration, insurance premiums, and occupational health and safety responsibilities.
Recognize the fundamentals of workers’ compensation claims and how they relate to employer obligations.
Bio: The Employers' Advisers Office provides educational services to employers in all areas of the BC Workers' Compensation system. The goal is to increase employer understanding, compliance and to promote safe, healthy and respectful workplaces.
