Bullying should never be tolerated in the workplace. We’ll teach your team what to do when they spot bullying and how to neutralize its effects. Through the use of structured experiences, group discussions, and case studies, this dynamic, engaging, and interactive session invites participants to explore bullying and harassment in the workplace.
Course Outline:
- General overview of bullying and harassment - review of specific cases
- Workplace conflict and incivility - how this differs from bullying and harassment
- Managing ourself in the workplace
- Understanding how we each contribute to a respectful workplace
- Focus on a more positive approach
- Understanding of the laws that govern bullying and harassment in the workplace
- A heightened awareness of behaviours, words, and attitudes supports building a respectful workplace and those that do not
- Developing better awareness of group dynamics and everyone's role within the group
- Sensitizing people to attitudes and behaviours that may offend others unwittingly
Learning Outcomes:
All employers have a duty to ensure they follow reasonable steps to avoid bullying and harassment in the workplace according to WorkSafeBC regulation.
- Develop a policy statement
- Take steps to prevent, including training employees - this workshop reviews this regulation
- Procedures for workers to report incidents or complaints
