This workshop will equip small business owners with a foundational understanding of intellectual property rights and strategies relevant to operating in British Columbia. Participants will learn about the different types of intellectual property along with practical steps for protecting their innovations and brand identity.
Embedding simple IP clauses into your everyday contracts, such as service agreements or subcontractor terms can help you retain ownership of your work and avoid costly disputes.
Registering ideas can be very helpful but trade secrets and confidential know-how can also be protected through practical tools like NDAs and clear internal policies.
Learning Outcomes:
Clarity and Confidence: Gain a clear understanding of different types of intellectual property and how they apply to everyday business activities in British Columbia.
Risk Management: Learn how to use non-disclosure agreements and licensing strategies to safeguard intellectual property assets.
