In this session, Rise will guide you through the next steps of discovering if your business idea has potential. 

Together, we will explore practical ways to gain valuable insights into your industry, acquire knowledge and understanding about your target market and potential customers, and find out what it would take to capture a piece of that market. 
 
We'll also examine cashflow considerations and will give you the tools to determine whether your business idea could generate sufficient profit to make it worth your while to pursue. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discover if you Business Idea has potential,
  • Learn ways to gain industry insights,
  • Acquire knowledge and understanding of your target market,
  • Examine cashflow considerations.

NICOLE OSMOND
Nicole Osmond

Bio: Nicole has dedicated her 20+ year career working in the field of people empowerment, and entrepreneurship has been a central theme. Nicole has had the pleasure of supporting 1000s of entrepreneurs across Atlantic Canada through her roles at Futurpreneur Canada, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development, YMCA and CBDC.

With a Bachelor of Commerce and a Certificate in Leadership Excellence, combined with her keen interest in lifelong learning, she has developed skills and knowledge in all areas of business, including business planning, operations, sales, strategy, customer success, media relations, website creation and SEO management, stakeholder engagement, marketing, financials, social media, etc.

Fuelled by compassion and motivation to be a solution provider, she launched her first social purpose business in 2015, CanEast Mobility Scooter Rentals Inc. Building on another passion, her second business, Peace by Piece Puzzles was launched in 2017, with her twin sister. She enthusiastically stepped into full-time entrepreneurship in 2018 and has been helping small businesses to be their best under her own name and brand. Nicole joined the Rise organization in 2019 as a volunteer on the Loan Review Committee, and in July 2020 began serving in the role of Business Advisor in Nova Scotia where she supports Rise entrepreneurs actualize their goal of self employment.

Her passion for writing came to life in October 2019, when she started sharing her lived and learned experiences through her blog. First morning coffees, a good book, long motorcycle rides, sunset campfires, and spending time at the beach are some of her favourite things.
